About the Owner:
Derick Villafranco-also known as “D” to some and “Boss man” to others-is the owner and founder of Via Power. He is a certified/licensed generator technician, with 20+ years of experience under his belt. Over the years, he has helped numerous customers with their residential and/or commercial properties all over Mississippi and continues to help where he can with tools in his hand and humor in the other. Derick is a hard worker dedicated to his craft and the community he has built over the years.

Installation
The installation process always begins with site selection and preparation. We make sure you have the proper foundation, fuel connections, electrical wiring, and required permits in place to support a well‑rounded system.

Inspection
Inspections involve a full overview of the generator like testing your system to make sure it is operational, making sure maintenance is up to date, and to identify if there are any issues or safety concerns in need of immediate attention.

Maintenance
Maintenance and service involve regular checkups on your system, as well as replacing the air filter if needed, testing the battery, and running the generator.
We offer regular yearly service, semiannual service, monthly service, or a service based on the customer’s preferences, so you get the most out of your system!

Repair
Repairing involves a thorough inspection of your machine or equipment to pinpoint the exact issue. After diagnosing the problem, we order the required parts and perform the repair or replacement to restore your system.

Surge Protectors are devices used to protect your electronics from power surges or voltage spikes. How it works is it monitors the voltage and absorbs or redirects excess energy, preventing it from damaging your devices. Like most surge protectors, they need power to work, but at Via Power we offer a surge protector that even if power is not available, it will continue to do its job.

A load bank is equipment used to test the performance of your machine by giving it a monitored, artificial electrical load. This ensures your generator can handle real world demand and that the functionality of your fuel, machine cooling, and exhaust systems is healthy.

The photo above is a reason why maintenance is so important. During one of our regular routine’s, we noticed a problem that could have led to major failure and/or costly repairs in the future. Maintenance is helpful because it can help us identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
Additional Information:
A transfer switch is a device used to help prevent electrical backfeed by safely managing the switching of power between the utility grid and a generator. This device is important because it delivers power from the generator to designated circuits without requiring manual connection, which can lead to overloads. During normal operation, the transfer switch allows power to flow from the utility grid to the panel. When it detects a power outage, it disconnects from the grid and ‘switches’ to the generator to supply power.
